ABOUT YEES

Practitioner-led.

Purpose-driven.

Who we are

YEES is a practitioner-led Community Interest Company working with schools, colleges and youth settings. Our team brings youth-work, education and safeguarding experience into programmes for young people and the adults who support them.

The focus is practical: recognise what is happening, regulate before reacting, reflect on choices and build healthier relationships.

MISSION

To help young people recognise emotions, regulate reactions and make more considered choices.

VISION

Young people and the adults around them have practical emotional-intelligence skills they can use every day.

YEES VALUES

Youth-Centred
Empowerment
Equity
Sustainability.

Why we exist

Schools and youth services already provide behaviour management and academic support. YEES adds focused work on the skills beneath behaviour:

Recognising emotions, regulating reactions, reflecting on choices and strengthening relationships.

Young people are often expected to manage stress, conflict and pressure before anyone has shown them how. YEES creates space to practise those skills with experienced adults.

Our approach brings together:

OUR THEORY OF CHANGE
How emotional intelligence
becomes safer decisions

AWARENESS

Recognising emotions and naming what is happening.

REGULATION

Pausing and regulating before reacting.

REFLECTION

Thinking through feelings, choices and consequences.

SELF-INFORMED THINKING

Using insight to choose a more considered response.

SAFER DECISIONS

Turning emotional intelligence into safer choices.

WHAT GUIDES US

Four principles guide every decision we make.

Lived experience

We’re practitioners first. Our work is grounded in real youth-work experience, not theory alone.

Evidence-led

We use structured emotional-intelligence tools, participant feedback and progress measures to shape and improve our work.

Safeguarding first

A young person’s welfare comes before everything. Safeguarding is built into how we work, not bolted on.

Built to last

We train the adults around young people too, so the change holds after we leave.
