The safety and welfare of every young person we work with comes first. That isn't a slogan. It's the principle that shapes every decision YEES makes about how we recruit, train and deliver.
We are committed to:
Our named Safeguarding and Welfare Manager is:
Jadene Stewart-McNeshie
Safeguarding and Welfare Manager, YEES CIC
Email: safeguarding@yeesupport.co.uk
Jadene is responsible for our safeguarding policy, training, case oversight and liaison with external safeguarding partners. If you need to raise a concern about a young person, Jadene is who to contact.
If you are worried about a young person, whether you're a parent, a school staff member, a partner, or a young person yourself, there are several ways to reach us:
When you contact us, you can give as much or as little detail as you feel comfortable with. We will listen, take you seriously, and explain what happens next.
If a young person is in immediate danger, or you believe a crime is being committed, please contact the emergency services first. Then contact us when you can.
Every YEES facilitator who works directly with young people:
We do not work with anyone, staff, volunteer or contractor, without confirmation of DBS clearance.
We respect confidentiality. We will not share information about a young person more widely than necessary.
However, we cannot promise complete confidentiality when a young person is at risk of significant harm, when someone else is at risk of harm, or when a crime has been committed or is likely to be.
In those situations, we have a legal duty to share information with appropriate authorities, for example, a school's Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), Children's Services, or the police. Where we do share, we share only what's necessary, with the right people, as quickly as needed.
This public summary reflects our full safeguarding policy, which is reviewed annually by our Safeguarding and Welfare Manager and signed off by the Co-CEOs. The full policy is shared with commissioning organisations on request.
If you'd like to read our full Safeguarding Policy, email safeguarding@yeesupport.co.uk.
